~~~Incidentally, rumour is that we have a bit of an inconsistency on when the Quick Throw in allowed/disallowed if the ball goes outside of the playing enclosure.
We should have a local ruling on that to get some consistency there! We will distribute the ruling the next day for those who cannot make it.
2) Recruitment posters have gone up - hoping to recruit a more referees to our fold for minis, juniors, ARing at E2 and E3, and EW2, tournaments, you name it, as well!
If you have any feedback, or hear any discussion, please let me know.
3) We are the proud parents of a bouncing new baby High Density flash drive video camera, with 12x optical zoom...
Q. Would you like your game taped? IF you would like your game taped, we are taking reservations now. Really, it is an awesome method of feed back and self-reflection, which is one path to improvement!! We will be all over the place during the finals and will go hard with a schedule next season. If I tape it, I promise a one week turn around.
4) Q: Any concerns to bring up to the ERU?
If you have had any concerns that you would like to bring up - write me in gruesome detail, including consequences (in 250 words or less).
Ie. consequences of no (or faint) lines, no ropes, no flags.
And on that note, if there are no lines or ropes, you can refuse to referee the game, automatic default 20-0 for the visiting team. If you ever have a complaint, do let one of us on the Exec know so that we can request to the club presidents to "git-r-done", and the consequences if it is not. Last year we had to give two clubs the "notice" that no other games will be officiated on their grounds if the lines are not clear / flags too short-not there / ropes not up. The fields were immaculate for the rest of the 2008 season. Funny how the memory gets short mid to late season again ... OK, so keep it good spirited folks. We are all working together to make rugby better, safer and more enjoyable.
Yours in rugby, Kim 780-466-0929
