Provincial Programs Support Service Contract 

Position Type: Service Contractor (May to September) 
Location: Alberta (Calgary, Red Deer, or Edmonton preferred) 
Compensation: $2,500 per month 
Reports to: Executive Director 

This position has been created to assist the Director of Rugby with provincial team programs and initiatives. The individual must display an ability to work evenings and weekends. Some of the tasks assigned will be administrative in nature while other tasks may require travel within the province. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Assist in the preparation of teams to participate in the Canadian Rugby Championships/National Festival 

• Support the organization of the Alberta Rugby Championships 

• Assist the Director of Rugby in the planning and delivery of development programs for players, coaches and officials 

• Support general administrative tasks, including word processing and data collection, data analysis and data management 

• Assist with website management and social media updates 

• Promote Rookie Rugby and Rugby Alberta initiatives within clubs 

• Provide support to clubs in the use of Coach Logic and The Rugby Site 

• Additional tasks as required 


Contract Details: 

• Contractor has the option to work within the Rugby Alberta office or from a remote location 

• A limited travel budget is available and the budget must not be exceeded 

• Evening and weekend support may be required 

• Contract period: May 1, 2017 to September 30, 2017

Selection Criteria: 

• Knowledge of the sport of rugby is mandatory 

• Demonstrated ability to work independently or with little supervision 

• Demonstrated record of working as a team member 

• A history of performing in situations that require self-leadership and initiative 

• Problem-solving skills are an asset 

• Computer literacy especially with spreadsheets, word processing, outlook, and power point as well as other web based programs 

• Sound knowledge and ability to stay engaged with social media platforms 

• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
