The Alberta Sport Development Centre – Central (ASDC-C) is pleased to announce that the ASDC-Central Female Athlete of the Month for April 2017 is Leah Brunner.
Leah Brunner, is a 16 year old Red Deer County resident, and Grade 11 student at Notre Dame High School in Red Deer and a competitive rugby athlete.
Leah is a competitive rugby athlete with the Notre Dame High School Cougars, the Red Deer Titans Rugby Football Club and is a member of Rugby Alberta’s 18U team and trains with Rugby Canada’s U18 Development Team. Leah plays both Rugby 7’s and Rugby 15’s. Most recently, Leah played with Team Alberta 7’s in Vancouver at a National 7’s events and came home with a Bronze medal, which is a great result for Leah and Rugby Alberta teammates.
A multi-sport athlete, Leah also competes in cross country running, athletics and football. Leah has a love of horse and competes in long distance horse races when not on the rugby pitch!
With Leah’s strong work ethic, her athletic gifts and her training experiences with ASDC-Central she will surely continue to grow and develop in her rugby career!
ASDC-Central thanks Tom Bast Sports for celebrating the ASDC-Central Athlete of the Month recipients by the provision of commemorative apparel for each recipient.
