Wolf Pack

The Wolf Pack is Alberta’s representative rugby team, competing in both 7s and 15s against other provincial and representative teams.

SENIOR MEN

Primary Competitions:

Coast to Coast Cup

June 22, 2025 | Nova Scotia

Selection:

The 2025 Prairie Cup regional competitions will serve as the primary selection event.

SENIOR WOMEN

Primary Competitions:

Atlantic Rugby Championships

July 3-6, 2025 | Nova Scotia

Selection:

The majority of athletes will be selected after the Emily Murphy Cup, a two-game match series between Edmonton Gold and Calgary Mavericks.

U19 MEN

Primary Competitions:

U19 Canadian Rugby Championships (15s)

 July 19-27, 2025 | Calgary

Selection:

  • The top 40 U19 men’s and women’s athletes will be selected after the Alberta Regional Championship on June 29-30, 2025
  • Athletes will be further developed and assessed for final selection to the Wolf Pack U19 squads, which will then assemble in Calgary to compete at the 2025 Canadian Rugby Championships (CRCs) from July 19-27. 
  • Given the short timeframe between the 2025 ARC 15s tournament and the 2025 U19 Canadian Rugby Championships, Rugby Alberta will also be working towards setting up Talent ID camps throughout June to enable competition amongst eligible players.

U19 WOMEN

 February 19-22, 2025 | Vancouver

Selection:

  • Athletes will be identified through clubs, schools, and the 2025 ARC 7s tournaments held in January, The top 20 boys and girls will be invited to a selection session on February 9, 2025. During this camp, athletes will be further developed and assessed for final selection to the Wolf Pack U18 squads. Following the February 9 training, teams will be reduced for the final training on February 16, where 14 players and 4 non-travelers will be named. 

Age Grades: Born in 2007/2008

U18 GIRLS

Primary Competitions:

Vancouver Sevens Invitational 

 February 19-22, 2025 | Vancouver

Selection:

  • Athletes will be identified through clubs, schools, and the 2025 ARC 7s tournaments held in January, The top 20 boys and girls will be invited to a selection session on February 9, 2025. During this camp, athletes will be further developed and assessed for final selection to the Wolf Pack U18 squads. Following the February 9 training, teams will be reduced for the final training on February 16, where 14 players and 4 non-travelers will be named.

U17 BOYS

Victoria Island Tour (15s)

August 3-7, 2025 | Shawnigan Lake School

Selection:

  • Athletes will be identified through clubs, schools, and the Alberta Regional Championship weekend on June 28-29, 2025. The top 40 boys and girls will be invited to a selection camp tentatively scheduled for July 11-13, 2025. During this camp, athletes will be further developed and assessed for final selection to the Wolf Pack U17 squads.

U17 GIRLS

Primary Competitions:
